Noah loved collecting old postcards. His grandma had passed her big box of postcards to him. Those postcards carried pictures of old towns, mountains and seaside scenery, together with short warm messages written decades ago. Noah treated the collection as his treasure.
Last month, Noah’s school held a culture fair. Each student could bring one special collection to display. Noah decided to show his postcard box. On the fair day, many classmates gathered around his desk. They admired those beautiful old postcards and asked lots of questions. Noah felt proud introducing every piece.
When the fair was over, the bell rang for afternoon classes. In a hurry, Noah grabbed his schoolbag and rushed to the classroom. He completely forgot the postcard box on the exhibition table. It was not until after school that he realized his terrible mistake. He ran back to the activity hall immediately, only to find the table empty. His heart sank. All his precious postcards were gone.
Noah told his head teacher Mr Carter about the missing box. Mr Carter comforted him and put up notice posters around the school, describing the brown wooden postcard box. Two days passed and nobody came to return it. Noah lost hope. He thought his unique collection was lost forever. On Thursday morning, the school secretary called Noah to the school gate. Someone had handed in something for him.
