For many years, scientists thought bad childhood experiences could harm the brain for life. But a new study from Germany shows that exercise can help the brain recover.
The researches studied 75 adults who had difficult childhoods. Some had been hurt or not well cared for when they were young. They found that in people who exercised often, brain areas for feelings and stress were closely connected. Exercise, they said, helped the brain work better.
