When we talk about the purpose of writing, we often think of it as a way to record information or express ideas. But writing can also be a powerful tool for learning.
①When you write, you have to make your thoughts clear. This helps you deeply understand what you are learning. For example, if you are learning a new language, writing sentences forces you to think about grammar and vocabulary. It also helps you remember what you have learned.
②Writing can also help you organize your ideas. When you write an essay, you need to put your thoughts in order. This makes it easier to see how different ideas are connected. The research shows that putting thoughts on paper helps people learn more effectively.
③Another benefit of writing is that it gives you a chance to reflect. After you finish writing, you can read what you have written and find mistakes. You can also think about how to improve your writing. This process helps you learn from your mistakes.
④Writing is also a way to communicate with others. When you share your writing, you get feedback from others. This feedback can help you improve your work. It also helps you see things from different points of view.

The Taklamakan Desert, is the biggest desert in China and the second largest moving desert in the world. It covers about 330,000 square kilometres and now has a 3,046-kilometre-long sand-blocking belt around it. The belt is the longest in the world and is completed by planting desert poplar trees, red willows and so on.
The project of building the sand-blocking belt faces many problems. As we all know, the desert is very large. It covers about 76% of Xinjiang's desert area, and its sand dunes are very tall, some reaching as high as 300 metres. So more time, money, and effort are required. The dry climate add more challenges. There is only about 50 millimetres of rain in the desert each year, and over 4,000 millimetres of water are lost through evaporation. Because there is not enough water, plants are hard to grow. Another problem is that the Taklamakan Desert is one of the most active areas for sandstorms in China.
With these problems, finishing this sand-blocking belt is a big success. Experts say it is a great achievement in human history, and people's hard work pays off. The sand-blocking belt protects oases from sandstorms, improves the local environment, and supports farming. It also shows China's strong skills in managing large environmental projects.
A local farmer said he was happy about the project and hoped it would continue to help fight desertification. In the coming years, Xinjiang will continue to expand the sand-blocking belt to bring more desert land back to life by 2030.

Do you like dancing? A lot of people take up dancing as an after-school hobby. In fact, people think dancing has been one of the best ways to fight bad feelings in recent years.
①When you dance, you move your body to different kinds of music, which helps your body make a lot of endorphins, and that can make you feel relaxed and happy.
②Listening to music or doing sports can make us happy, but if we do them together, we will feel even happier. In a study, some German scientists tested several groups of patients in three different situations: dancing to music, listening to music, riding bikes without music. The results showed that the first group was the happiest.
③Dancing can bring people together. Whether it's a tango or any other Latin-American dances, people tend to move with others. This can improve their areas of social bonding, according to a scientific foundation.
④Dancing also helps people get rid of bad feelings. Studies have found that depression often has to do with worries about the past or worries about the future. However, dancing helps people focus on the present moment and free their mind for a while.
⑤Lauren Beldner, a social worker, said that if people enjoy music of any kind, dancing can be a helpful way to reduce stress. She also said that dancing can be done in many ways, from moving around the house with a song to going out dancing with friends. "The important part is that it is fun."
