这 16 题是按托福写作这些年的重复规律挑出来的一个大致范围。考到了,是大家平时努力备考的幸运;
Social media's impact ·
PROFESSORWe often discuss the influence of social media on modern society. Social media platforms can connect people globally and promote the exchange of ideas. However, they can also lead to misinformation and negatively impact mental health. Do you think social media has a more positive or negative impact on society? Why?
Parental involvement ·
PROFESSORWe've been discussing the impact of parental involvement on student achievement. Some studies suggest that active parental involvement, such as helping with homework and attending school events, boosts student performance in both the long term and short term. Other scholars have argued that too much parental involvement can lead to dependency and hinder the development of self-reliance among children. What are your thoughts on this?
Training vs lower prices ·
PROFESSORCompanies often have to make decisions that affect their long-term development. Some argue that investing in employee training and development programs is the best way to ensure future success, while others believe that lowering product prices to increase competitiveness is more effective. Which approach do you think is better for a company's long-term growth, and why?
Project-based learning ·
PROFESSORWe've been discussing the impact of different teaching methods on student learning. Some educational experts believe that project-based learning, which involves students working on projects over an extended period, is the most effective way to learn. Do you think project-based learning is beneficial for students? Why or why not?
Wildlife protection ·
PROFESSORWe're studying the benefits of different approaches to protecting wildlife and natural environments. Some experts argue that creating parks and wildlife reserves where no human development is allowed is the most effective way to protect animals and ecosystems. Others believe that teaching farmers to reduce pesticide use and preserve soil quality is more important because agriculture affects much larger land areas where both wildlife and food production must coexist. Which approach do you think produces better environmental protection?
Social norms: good or bad ·
PROFESSORDr. Gupta: This week we are exploring the concept of social norms and their influence on behavior. Social norms are unwritten rules that dictate how individuals should act. For example, norms can include dressing appropriately for different occasions or greeting others politely. Some sociologists argue that social norms help maintain order and predictability, while others believe they can restrict personal freedom and creativity. Are the effects of social norms mostly positive, or are they mostly negative? Explain your views.
Permanent art vs temporary events ·
PROFESSORWe've been discussing the role of public art like painted murals on building walls, statues in parks, and sculptures in city squares. Some people believe that these permanent artistic installations enhance neighborhoods and provide spaces for local artists to showcase their talents. Others argue that communities benefit more from funding temporary art events like outdoor concerts, theater performances, and art festivals that gather people together. What is your view? Should communities prioritize permanent public art or temporary cultural events?
Social mobility ·
PROFESSORThis semester, we are exploring the concept of social mobility. Social mobility refers to the ability of individuals or families to move up or down the social ladder over time, especially by growing wealthier. Some sociologists argue that education is the key to improving social mobility, while others believe that economic policies and government intervention play a larger role. What do you think is the most effective way to enhance social mobility? Why?
Art and social change ·
PROFESSORWe've been discussing how different art forms affect people and communities. Consider these specific examples: protest songs that motivate people to join movements, murals that bring communities together, or movies that change how people think about important issues. Some people argue that art creates change by making people aware of problems and motivating them to act. Others believe art simply shows what already exists in society without actually changing anything. Which view do you agree with? Why?
Role of government in the economy ·
PROFESSORDoctor Gupta: We often discuss the impact of government intervention in the economy. Some argue that government regulations and policies can improve economic stability and protect consumers. Others believe that too much intervention can stifle innovation and lead to inefficiencies. What do you think is the most effective role of government in the economy?
Multitasking at work · 工作
PROFESSORThis week we have been discussing strategies to promote workplace productivity and employee performance. One particularly controversial topic that has emerged is multitasking. While some argue that the ability to juggle multiple tasks at once is essential in today's fast-paced work environments, others believe that multitasking actually reduces efficiency and increases the likelihood of errors. Do you believe that managers should promote multitasking in the workplace? Why or why not?
Solving fast fashion ·
PROFESSORFast fashion refers to the rapid production of inexpensive clothing for mass-market sales. Fast fashion allows consumers to buy trendy items at low prices and provides job opportunities in manufacturing countries. But critics argue that fast fashion leads to vast amounts of pollution in the form of discarded clothing, which harms the environment, and that workers experience poor working conditions. In your view, what would be the most effective solution to the problems associated with fast fashion?
Follow-up on a lecture ·
收件人 Dr. Roberts(客座讲座主讲人) · 功能 请求
1. Mention what you found informative about her lecture.2. Request recommendations for further reading materials and resources on environmental sustainability.3. Ask her if she gives lectures on other topics that interest you.
收件人 Dr. Patterson(研讨会组织者) · 功能 致谢+请求
1. Explain how the seminar was helpful to you.2. Request additional resources for improving communication skills.3. Express your admiration for their expertise in the field.
An online shoe purchase ·
1. Describe the problem with the shoes.2. Explain why the issue is important to you.3. Request a replacement or another solution.
Vacation rental inquiry ·
1. State your intention to reserve vacation lodging and clarify your practical accommodation needs.2. Ask the staff to recommend suitable properties that fit your requirements.3. Inquire about the price and unique advantages of different options.
Cooking class thanks ·
1. Explain why you enjoyed the class and why you are writing to thank her.2. Ask for her advice on how to further improve your cooking skills and request recommendations for learning resources.3. Express your gratitude to her.
Europe trip ideas ·
1. Describe the destinations you have researched.2. Explain why you think these destinations would be enjoyable.3. Ask for his opinion on the suggested itinerary and any additional ideas he might have.
Printer malfunction report ·
收件人 Mr. Evans(学校 IT 部门) · 功能 报修+建议
1. Describe the issues you are experiencing with the printer.2. Explain how these issues are affecting your work.3. Suggest a possible solution to the problem.
Cooking club schedule ·
收件人 Lily(学生烹饪社社长) · 功能 请求
1. Compliment Lily on the job she is doing as club president.2. Explain why the current weekly meeting schedule is a problem for you.3. Request a change to the meeting schedule going forward.
Community center feedback ·
收件人 Mr. Larson(社区中心经理) · 功能 建议
1. Describe what you enjoyed about the community center.2. Identify a recreational activity that the community should add to its current offerings.3. Explain why adding this activity would benefit community members.
Canceled flight · 出行
收件人 Ms. Turner(航空公司客服) · 功能 求助
1. Explain the issue with your canceled flight.2. Describe how this cancellation affects your travel plans.3. Ask for assistance in booking another flight or provide alternative solutions.
Damaged furniture ·
收件人 Ms. Brown(Home Comforts 客服) · 功能 投诉
1. Describe the item you purchased and the damage it sustained.2. Explain why you are disappointed with the situation.3. Request a replacement or a refund for the damaged item.
Gym equipment ·
收件人 Ms. Taylor(健身房经理) · 功能 建议
1. Describe the issues you have noticed with the current equipment.2. Provide reasons for why adding new equipment would improve the gym experience.3. Explain the consequences on membership of not improving the services.
写作站:writing.evatf.cn(点「邮件写作」和「学术讨论」)
