The concept of "lifelong learning" has gained increasing attention in recent decades, especially as technological advancements and global competition accelerate the need for continuous skill development. Unlike traditional education, which is often confined to childhood and early adulthood, lifelong learning emphasizes learning 1 the entire lifespan—from formal schooling to professional training, and even personal enrichment in retirement.

In the digital age, 2 access to online courses, webinars, and educational platforms has made lifelong learning more accessible than ever. Platforms like Coursera and edX offer thousands of courses from top universities, allowing learners to acquire new skills or deepen existing ones at their own pace. For example, a software engineer might take a course in artificial intelligence to stay relevant, 3 a retired teacher could explore photography to pursue a longheld hobby.

However, lifelong learning is not without challenges. Time constraints, financial burdens, and the sheer volume of information available can overwhelm even the most motivated individuals. To address these issues, governments and organizations are increasingly investing in flexible learning models, such as parttime programs, microcredentials, and employersponsored training. These initiatives aim to make learning 4 and more aligned with learners’ needs.
